Its not hard to imagine the social impact that human beings can cause to others, social relationships gather us as humans and it is built by visits, and checking up on each other from time to time.

This visit of the technology team to the Amman center for the care of the elders , was part of the team inspecting the conditions of an important category of our society in which we touch the beauty of youth and difficulty of old age. The beauty of compensation and the unity of creation are semiotic meanings that were summed up by a phrase that Isra one of the team members said ,“ It gets you closer to Allah”. Mixed feelings of sadness, fear, awe and joy filled some of us who witnessed such cases. A normal human being is surprised how this can be! How can the offsprings leave their parents strangers in their old age, weak and alone without companion.

We shared with them a couple of bites which meant a lot to them , as they missed dining with their families. Hassan one of our team members recalled an utter that one of the ladies at the center  told him, ( We want nothing from you but taking care of your parents). We spent a couple of hours that were joyful as it is sweet to learn from others ,and to stop for a moment to think your life over , so you can correct what you missed.

It is an opportunity as well, to sit with elders ,and that takes you back to the moments you spent with your relatives who passed away. It is great that you can listen to their short stories and memories because they come from different places.” It’s a chance to learn the importance of the family”, as Sarah one of the members said who brought her 7 years old daughter with her.   ” It is a chance to view life out of the box and frame that we are used to “ ,as Mais ,the head of the team said.

In general, this visit was never meant to find answers , on the contrary it was meant to start to question ourselves and to wonder about what our parents provided us with and did for us… And what will we give them in return in the future ,when they start to get old , weak and ill just like  we were when we were young and helpless. As in the old age the health starts to deteriorate waiting for something to be done with goodwill, may you be from those who do good.
