Ethbat challenges Mansaf
When the sense of humor blended with the core of interest in one mold, a mixture of a series of Ramadan scenes was formed, where Ethbat Team showed their best in collaboration with the charitable association Life Makers last Ramadan.
Ethbat’s Ramadan scenes were characterized by their comic nature and the balanced presentation of both nutritionists and food lovers’ points of view, represented by the character of Mofeed -meat and fats Junkie-, and the nutritionist Mais.
Drawing the attention of both teams towards the other team’s point of view is the main idea of the program; it appeals to the nutritionists to listen to the people’s opinions and try to give the advices which meet the food culture, in return the other team should not drift toward the food lust.
We had a conversation with the members of Ethbat Team which consists of : Mohamed El Goghber and Enas Mohsen as main characters in Ethbat scenes , the general supervisor Khalid Al Mughrabi , the executive producer Mariam Al Jarrah , the editor Omar Swes , the graphic and design team consisted of Saga El Amoosh , Doa’ Hussein , Dana Amer and Heba Taha , and the camera man Magdy Thoweb , we shed the light on the team’s idea and beginnings, in addition to the difficulties it met .
Khalid, the general supervisor of Ethbat Team pointed out that the start of the program’s idea merged upon the will of Enas Mohsen -the nutritionist and the volunteer in Life Makers association- to set up a nutrition clinic supported by Life Makers association which constantly welcomes ideas of new and utilitarian projects, but it was agreed on a sort of different method than traditional ones to deliver hygienic information.
Khalid also referred to the most significant factors that helped in the work accomplishment; first of all the holy month of Ramadan was so close and that meant a lot of paradoxes between eating and hunger, second there would be people who represent the program’s characters which interacted as required.
Enas, a nutritionist and one of the two main characters of the program - she played the role of Mais the nutritionist - talked about her experience in passing on her knowledge and what she had learnt through educating acting style, she added that the nature of her work in giving lectures in front of people helped her to confront the camera without feeling embarrassed. Enas expressed her satisfaction for the way people welcomed the scenes of program, thanks to Allah.
Mohamed the second main character in the program - he played the role of Mofeed -asserted on the possibility of going on with the experiment as long as it conveys the information, for his participation in the work was out of his belief that everyone should add something valuable and effective at the same time to his society . When we asked Mohamed about the funny situations which happened at the work backstage, he mentioned that on his engagement day, the team were waiting and calling him, but he couldn’t pick up the phone, so they thought he had quit the team!
He also said that once he lost track of time while eating grapes in the garden of the house they were shooting in, forgetting completely that the time of shooting is confined and that everybody was waiting for him.
The Graphic and design team expressed their happiness of participation in this program; Dana said that the experiment had added experience to her which she would utilize in future participations, while Heba mentioned that her role was focused on the Animation process and moving the elements of the beginning and end sign.
As for Saga who began her speech by thanking the great team for this accomplishment, and expressing her admiration of presenting this program just in a very short time, said that she designed the poster and picked the colors, she also added that the experiment gave her good experience even if it was little.
Omar the editor referred to some difficulties they met during work like any other TV work, for instance changing the script, incomplete shooting, the appearance of new ideas which sometimes lead to change the whole idea of the program, and the soundtrack composed by themselves according to what suited the scenes, all these barriers were successfully overridden to get a complete work in a very short time.
Magdy - the camera man - said that the work competes with the quality of several local channels work, especially when it comes to the quality of image, and if more facilities and financial support were available, the work would have competed with a lot of huge works concerning image.
And at the end of the interview Mariam the executive producer of the program who participated in many TV works, said that her experiment was rich, lovely and enjoyable, and this goes back to the clarity of goal and the love of work.
She added, referring to the difficulties she met, that beginnings are always hard, and the fact that the team had no earlier acquaintance of each other, represented a barrier that was soon passed through co-operation, besides the problem of the confined time which they came over successfully. As For how she felt after the work was accomplished, she expressed a great relief; knowing the positive response of people. It’s to mention that the work accomplished by Ethbat Team was done in a period that didn’t exceed one month, also Khalid asserted that there is a will from the beginning to continue the work and produce another one similar to it in what concerns the substance.
